When I initially decided to become a dentist, I had no idea that, eventually, I would need to learn all about dental software, a product that I had not even conceived of in those days. I have owned my own dental practice for about twenty years now, and when I first opened my practice, we used one of those ancient x-ray machines that were a huge pain to use and required a lot of film and even more hassle.
Even though these old machines were a pain to use, I had been using them for so long that I didn't want make a change to the new dental software when it first became popular. I was won over by the new software though, when one of my pals from dental school showed me the new software he was using and told me that the new software had really made an improvement in his practice. I was happy that I listened to him, and I was amazed at how great the program was and how easy it was to use. I had been thinking that since it was such advanced technology that it would actually be harder for an old dental veteran like myself to easily grasp, but I was so wrong.
Something else that I really appreciated about the software was that it was web-based, so that I could simply log in from anywhere at any time and look up a patient's records without having to really be in the office. I really loved the idea of being able to use my smartphone to go over patient records from my home or during lunch, or even when I am out of town on a business trip.
On top of all that, the dental imaging capabilities of this software were incredible! I was able to see all of the details of the teeth with no trouble at all, and I was certain that I would be better able to decide on appropriate treatments with the help of this technology. I was certainly interested, so my friend showed me the website for this great company that he had ordered his equipment from.
I spent a good amount of time looking online, and the more I read, the more I was sure that this was what my practice really needed. I had new equipment put in and the software installed, and now I have no worries that I am not keeping up with the rest of the dentists. Technology is my friend, now, and I know that I am giving my patients the very best possible treatment for their teeth.
